MOVING FORWARD

NOVEMBER 8, 2010

I was chided for not showing you a storm that blew through here the other week. It brought some severe weather to these parts.

And this is what happened on the 6Th--our first of the season.

Frank continued putting metal on the roof though Wednesday, when he ran out of metal--with one more section of the main roof to do. He spent the next day trying to figure out exactly what he needed yet. We will probably buy the rest from a local lumber store--hadn't realized that we could do that before.

I put the paint things away from doing the study. (By the way, I found out the hard way that not all ceiling paint is created equal! I ended up with a gray patch on a white ceiling, and had to purchase other paint and try again.) Since Frank cut the frames and trim for the study door and the closet in that room, I went back to sanding. I have also learned that not all sand paper is created equal. I'm having to change sand paper every board or two.

I kept working on filling cabinets. I stained the doors, etc., and started putting finish on the doors, frames, and trim.

Frank laid the carpet in the study.

He went on to put left overs on the stairs. (Looking down to the landing)

He set up my computer at our house, and found and connected our DVD recorder.

Our new stove came, and Frank installed it. It's nice not to have to do everything with an electric skillet or the microwave.

He has been cleaning up outside our house, and has stated fixing the lane for the winter.

He has also started cutting and splitting wood for winter. We have lots down and dry from clearing for both houses.

This is also the week Frank had trouble with electronic gadgets. His camera and cell phone died. He was able to put the SIM card in an older phone, so his number still works. He bought a new camera. It can take this kind of shots.
