WELL USED COLLAR TIES

DECEMBER 13, 2010

Here are the pictures I promised.

Here are our African mementos from Barry and Edna and Dwight.

And here is my angel collar tie. There are actually more up now--hanging on the side of the tie.

This is the way the tops of our cupboards look.

Frank made shelves for his office mementos. Notice all the clocks. There are one dozen in the study alone.

He was able to put metal on the rest of the roof last Saturday when the temperature climbed to 51*. The low last night was 9*. Brrrr!

MORE MOVED IN PICTURES

DECEMBER 6, 2010

I will probably keep this blog going for some time, but it won't be every Monday as it had been. We still have lots of trim work to do. As things change, I will try to post some pictures.

We have also spent two separate weekends away from home. My mother celebrated her 95th birthday on November 21st. Wava, Don, Phyllis, and I, along with our spouses took her out for supper. Tim and Maggie, who live in CA, couldn't make it. When we took her home, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren stopped in to help her celebrate some more. Here are pictures of we four siblings with Mom, and another of Mom and me.

This weekend we journeyed east to visit Dad King. He seems to be doing well emotionally. He is even beginning to carve again. He is presently working on an eagle.
The metal we ordered arrived. Frank has been concerned about having nice days to work on the roof after it came. He has been able to do some work. In fact, he was able to lay metal beyond the second sky light. Now he waits more nice weather.

A day or two later, our world looked like this! It hasn't stopped since, and is not supposed to for several more days.

With the finishing project completed, Frank installed the pocket door in to the study, and the closet doors in that room.

The one thing we have discovered since we moved in is a roomy basement.

And room in the garage. We can even get both cars in!

We have this much stored in the basement yet. It's mostly books, photos, pictures (to hang,) canning jars, upholstery supplies/machine, and knick-knacks.

I still have no pictures of all the things we've placed on the collar ties. I'll save that for another day.
